Payments May Also Be Made in LKR, USD, EUR, or GBP.

What Languages Are Spoken In Sri Lanka?

Sinhala and Tamil Are The Official Languages. English Is Widely Spoken in Tourist Areas,
Hotels, and Among Guides and Chauffeurs.

The Local Currency Is The Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR). While USD/EURO Are Accepted at Some
Hotels, We Recommend Converting Currency at Banks or Official Counters. Credit Cards Are
Widely Accepted in Cities.

Tipping Is Customary And Appreciated. As A Guideline:

  • Chauffeur Guides: USD 10–15 Per Day
  • Hotel Porter/Staff: LKR 200–500
  • Restaurant Service: 10% If Not Already Included
